Paksiw na Pata

Paksiw na Pata is another Filipino recipe made by braising ham hocks in a vinegar, soy sauce and sugar mixture until it becomes tender and the sauce is gelatinous and thick.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 lbs. Ham Hocks or Pata, cut 1 inches thick
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 to 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 pack dried banana blossoms(Bulaklak ng Saging)
  • 3 pieces bay leaf(Laurel leaf)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  •  cups of water
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • salt and whole pepper corn

Procedures;

  1. Place pork’s leg in a pan .Pour the water in it and bring to boil.
  2. Add the whole pepper corn and dried bay leaves.
  3. Put-in the soy sauce and garlic then wait for the mixture to boil again.
  4. Add the vinegar and simmer for 10 minutes
  5. When pork is tender and thick sauce is formed, add the banana blossoms and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes
  6. Add the brown sugar and salt and simmer for 2 minutes
  7. Serve hot and Enjoy!
