Paksiw na Pata is another Filipino recipe made by braising ham hocks in a vinegar, soy sauce and sugar mixture until it becomes tender and the sauce is gelatinous and thick.
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 lbs. Ham Hocks or Pata, cut 1 inches thick
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 to 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pack dried banana blossoms(Bulaklak ng Saging)
- 3 pieces bay leaf(Laurel leaf)
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- cups of water
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- salt and whole pepper corn
Procedures;
- Place pork’s leg in a pan .Pour the water in it and bring to boil.
- Add the whole pepper corn and dried bay leaves.
- Put-in the soy sauce and garlic then wait for the mixture to boil again.
- Add the vinegar and simmer for 10 minutes
- When pork is tender and thick sauce is formed, add the banana blossoms and simmer for 5 to 7 minutes
- Add the brown sugar and salt and simmer for 2 minutes
- Serve hot and Enjoy!
